Terms of Use

Terms of Use

Effective June 12, 2026

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") form a binding agreement that governs your access to and use of stackedresume.com and the Stacked Resume résumé-building service (together, the "Service"), operated by Stacked Resume, a product of 117 Projects, LLC ("Stacked Resume," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Definitions and order of precedence

  • "Service" means the Site, the résumé builder, templates, AI features, PDF export, and related functionality.
  • "Your Content" means the résumé content, uploaded files, job descriptions, and other materials you create, upload, or provide.
  • "AI features" means the optional tools that use Google's Gemini API to extract résumé text, score your résumé against a job description (the "ATS check"), and generate review, rewrite, and tailoring suggestions.
  • "Paid plan" means any subscription tier offered for a recurring fee.

These Terms incorporate the Privacy Policy by reference. If there is a direct conflict between these Terms and a specific written agreement we sign with you, the signed agreement controls for that conflict; otherwise these Terms govern. Section headings are for convenience only.

2. The Service

Stacked Resume lets you create, edit, store, preview, and export structured résumés to PDF. You can also import an existing résumé and use AI features — résumé text extraction, ATS keyword matching against a job description, and review, rewrite, and tailoring suggestions. We provide the tools and templates; the content of your résumé is yours and is your responsibility. Using the Service does not create an employment, agency, or fiduciary relationship, and we do not guarantee any particular outcome (see Section 9).

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
  • Sign-in uses your email and a password. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your password confidential.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use or suspected breach of security.
  • One person or entity per account; do not share login credentials.

4. Plans, billing, and cancellation

  • Free plan. You can build and store résumés for free. Free accounts may export a limited number of PDFs per period (currently one PDF export per calendar month).
  • Paid plans. We currently offer Builder (currently $5 per month) and Career Pro (currently $20 per month), which unlock additional features and higher export limits, subject to a reasonable fair-use limit to prevent abuse. Current plans, prices, and limits are shown on our pricing page and at checkout.
  • Payment. Subscriptions are billed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. We do not store your full card details (see the Privacy Policy).
  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly) unless you cancel before the renewal date.
  • Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal in your account. Your paid features remain active until the end of the current billing period; we do not provide prorated refunds for partial periods except where required by law.
  • Deletion and billing. If you delete your account, any active subscription is canceled immediately, with no refund for the remainder of the then-current period.
  • Price changes. We may change prices; changes apply to future billing periods, and we will give reasonable advance notice.
  • Taxes. Prices may exclude applicable taxes, which will be added where required.

5. Your content and the license you give us

You retain all rights to Your Content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and process Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you: for example, to save your résumé, render a live preview, generate a PDF export (which involves sending Your Content to our rendering provider), and run any AI feature you choose to use (which involves sending the relevant content to Google's Gemini API), all as described in the Privacy Policy. This license is limited to operating the Service and ends when you delete Your Content or close your account, except for residual copies in routine backups and any records we must retain by law.

You represent that you have the right to use the information you include and that Your Content does not infringe anyone's rights or contain unlawful material.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purpose, including misrepresenting your identity or credentials in a way that violates the law;
  • Upload malware or attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt the Service or its security;
  • Access or attempt to access another user's account or data;
  • Scrape, mirror, or systematically harvest the Service or its content;
  • Run automated tools against our endpoints or attempt to circumvent rate limits, export limits, or bot protection;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law;
  • Resell or commercially exploit the Service without our permission;
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others or our staff.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules (see Section 12).

7. Our intellectual property

The Service's software, design, templates, copy, logos, and the "Stacked Resume" name and marks are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service to create your own résumés. We do not grant you rights to copy, modify, redistribute, or create derivative works from the Service itself or its templates beyond generating your own résumés. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (including Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, Browserless, Resend, Cloudflare, and Google's Gemini API, which powers our AI features). Your use of features powered by them may also be subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions. See our Privacy Policy for how data is shared with them.

9. AI features and no guarantee of outcomes

Stacked Resume is a tool for formatting and exporting résumés. We do not guarantee that using the Service will result in interviews, job offers, or employment of any kind, and we are not responsible for hiring decisions made by any employer.

Some features use automated AI (Google's Gemini) to extract text from uploads, score your résumé against a job description, and suggest rewrites or tailoring. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. An ATS score is an estimate for your guidance only and is not a guarantee that any employer's applicant-tracking system will parse, accept, or rank your résumé in any particular way. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before you rely on it or submit it, and you remain solely responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of your résumé.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that exports will be free of formatting issues. You are responsible for reviewing each exported PDF before you rely on or submit it. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stacked Resume and 117 Projects, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, opportunities, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) US $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account yourself from your Account settings. When an account is deleted, we remove your résumé content, uploaded files, and associated data as described in the Privacy Policy, and we cancel any active subscription immediately (no refund for the remainder of the period), except for limited records we must retain by law. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Stacked Resume, 117 Projects, LLC, and their staff from any claim, damage, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

14. Governing law, informal dispute resolution, and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

Informal resolution first. Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at info@stackedresume.com and give us at least 30 days to try to resolve the dispute informally and in good faith. Most concerns can be resolved this way.

If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you have under the laws of your home jurisdiction.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Effective" date at the top of this page, and where appropriate we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

16. Miscellaneous

  • Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
  • Survival. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, and 16 — will survive.

17. Contact

These Terms of Use were prepared as a good-faith starting point and have not been reviewed by legal counsel. Stacked Resume is a product of 117 Projects, LLC. We recommend consulting an attorney before relying on them.
